Tinubu Anti-People Policies, Calls To Set Back And Reflect, By Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed

Hunger and the skyrocketing cost of food will ignite a fire among the masses

Fathers falter due to economic strain, leaving families in disarray. Mothers are forced to beg, striving to feed their children – often the sole child – due to rampant hunger, a consequence of government neglect in caring for its citizens.
For decades, Nigerians have grappled with the scourge of bad governance perpetuated by individuals masquerading as leaders.

These figures have strategically manipulated the system, effectively undermining the voices of oppressed citizens and thwarting any potential challenges to their authority.

The desperation brought about by unmet basic needs has led some to take their own lives in sheer frustration. The economic turmoil has driven many to the point of hopelessness, rendering them unable to repay loans they had acquired.

The reality of people resorting to suicide due to the dire economic circumstances paints a distressing picture of the multifaceted consequences of prolonged mismanagement and the urgent need for transformative change and responsible leadership in the country.

The unfortunate reality emerges as educated youths, once hopeful graduates, find themselves turning to fraudulent activities known as “Yahoo Yahoo.” The dearth of employment opportunities is a direct consequence of governmental failure.

The economic landscape has been monopolized and corrupted by the self-serving motives of Nigerian politicians. Meanwhile, the genuine voices of the populace have been caged, with security agents employed to intimidate those daring to protest against Tinubu’s anti-people policies.

Amidst the nation’s economic distress caused by the removal of fuel subsidies and the soaring cost of living, the citizenry’s lament grows louder.

President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering stance on not reversing the fuel subsidy despite the evident suffering of the people shows his apparent indifference. This is disheartening considering his earlier pledge to faithfully represent and heed the cries of the Nigerian.

Regrettably, his actions have diverged from his promises as he appears unmoved and unconcerned by the plight of the oppressed, choosing instead to wield power in ways that seem contrary to the well-being of those he had vowed to serve.

Leadership entails not only listening to the concerns and grievances of the people but also taking proactive steps to address those issues. If a policy is causing harm and dissatisfaction among the citizens, it is the responsibility of leaders like Tinubu to reevaluate and consider alternative solutions that can better serve the interests and well-being of the people. Prioritizing the satisfaction and welfare of the people is a fundamental aspect of responsible governance.

Hunger has no listening ear, this shows the desperation that arises from hunger. An empty stomach can drive people to extreme measures, making them vulnerable to taking drastic actions.

The prevailing hardship in the country is fanning the flames of discontent among the aggrieved citizens. If left unchecked, the consequences could surpass even the intensity of the EndSARS movement. The current situation is a clear indication that mere political talks is insufficient to quell the mounting tension.

Hunger and the skyrocketing cost of food will ignite a fire among the masses, and the oppressed citizens will have no alternative but to brace the path of revolution.

It’s crucial for Tinubu to set aside his ego and carefully reconsider the policies that are causing harm to the country. Reversing policies that are not favorable to the citizens demonstrates a willingness to prioritize their well-being over personal agendas.

Embracing the voice of the people and aligning it with his own would indeed reflect a genuine commitment to the welfare of the nation and its citizens.

True leadership involves adapting and responding to the needs and concerns of the people one aims to serve.
