Mother Of Nine Allegedly Commits Suicide By Hanging In Delta

Warri, Delta State – A mother of nine children has allegedly committed suicide by hanging, at Enamejewa Street, off the Warri/Sapele Road, Delta State.
The incident occurred on the early hours of Monday, November 6, 2023, the septuagenarian hanged herself with her wrapper in a public toilet of the compound where she lived.
While fingers are being pointed at economic hardship as the likely cause of her actions, the actual reasons behind the woman’s drastic step remain unknown as of Tuesday.
The woman was a native of Olomu Kingdom in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state, and she was recognized for her strong commitment to the Catholic faith.
According to local sources, it was further discovered that she had reportedly threatened to end her life in the presence of her children.
The woman had earlier made an attempt on her own life by consuming a poisonous substance the day before, but her attempt was unsuccessful.
One of her young granddaughters raised the alarm, drawing the attention of other tenants and neighbors. They were shocked to find a lifeless body hanging in the toilet.
It is reported that the body of the septuagenarian has been placed in the morgue of the Central Hospital in Warri.
