“Bandits invaded our homes during this festive season, forcibly kidnapped seven people and injured several others. They fired several gunshots that injured many, and seven of our family members are now in the den of heartless criminals,” the source added.

The source told Afrika Eyes that among those injured is a young girl who reportedly sustained serious gunshot wounds and is currently battling for her life.

Residents described the attack as devastating, noting that the community is reeling from shock, with families distraught over the fate of those abducted.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Kwara State Police Command or other security agencies on the incident.

Afrika Eyes had reported that residents of Offa, a commercial town in Kwara State, were gripped by fear late Thursday night after loud explosions rocked several neighbourhoods, destroying residential buildings and shops barely hours after former United States President Donald Trump announced U.S. airstrikes against ISIS targets in parts of Nigeria.

The explosions, which occurred around midnight, sent residents running out of their homes in panic, with eyewitnesses reporting that debris appeared to fall from the sky, raising suspicions of a drone-delivered bomb.

A video obtained by Afrika Eyes shows what residents believe to be fragments of a drone bomb dropping moments after a powerful blast.

The footage also captures damaged buildings, scattered rubble, and distressed residents calling on the Kwara State Government and security agencies to urgently inintervene.

Afrika Eyes gathered that no fewer than five houses and several shops were destroyed in the incident, with multiple structures severely damaged across affected areas of the town.

“Why would they launch a bomb here?” one visibly shaken resident asked. Another added, “We saw the remnants of the drone after it destroyed a house.”

A member of the local vigilante group who visited the scene confirmed the explosions, stating that the first blast occurred shortly after midnight.

“I got there after 12 a.m. I called the Balogun, and he came immediately,” he said. “We went to a hotel where one of the explosions occurred, but I won’t mention the hotel’s name. The building was damaged. Another explosion happened around the prayer ground near Ijagbo in Offa.”

According to him, several houses, storey buildings, and other structures were affected by the blasts.

“We thank God that no lives were lost,” he added.
