Police Arrest Three For Threat To Life In Lagos
The Police have approached a court of competent jurisdiction and got a remand order
Ikeja, Lagos State– Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two females, identified as Dorcas Adeyinka and Folake Adekoya, along with a male, Sikiru Ayinde on charges related to cyberstalking and threats to life.
He added that the Police had approached a court of competent jurisdiction and got a remand order for the suspects till Jan. 10, 2024, to ensure a thorough investigation.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
“Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested the trio of Dorcas Adeyinka ‘f’, Sikiru Ayinde ‘m’ and Folake Adekoya ‘f’ following numerous petitions from different persons bordering on cyberstalking, cyberbullying, alleged abduction, threat to life and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
“The police, having conducted preliminary investigations and establishing these cases against the suspects, arrested the suspects for a consolidation and harmonisation of the investigations for possible prosecution.
“To get adequate time for the conclusion of an ongoing investigation, the Police have approached a court of competent jurisdiction and got a remand order for the suspects till January 10, 2024.”
Hundeyin noted that the police force would “continue to enforce extant laws of the nation, particularly those relating to cyberstalking and cyber bullying which can trigger violence if not adequately managed or curtailed.”
He stated that the public will be “kept abreast of developments as the investigation progresses.”
