37-Year-Old Woman Kill As Police Engage Kidnappers On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Her remains was immediately collected by her relatives who were conveying her to the hospital

Abeokuta, Ogun State– A 37-year-old woman, Bilikisu Kazeem, lost her life due to a bullet wound sustained during a fierce gun battle between Police and kidnappers on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

SP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the development, said as a result of the engagement, nine out of ten persons were rescued from the kidnappers on the highway.

The kidnappers had on Friday abducted travelers on the Lagos- Ibadan expressway, including the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos state, Philip Aivoji.

The image maker said the men of the police command had embarked on an operation to rescue the victims.

“A White Mazda Bus registered as LSR 288 XE was slightly damaged, while Eunice Afolake Osalusi “f”, Erinfolami Samuel “m”, Obafemi Da Altantra “m” and Adeyinka Mathew sustained non-life threatening bullet injuries in their escape attempts. They are recuperating and stable in hospital.

“Sadly, one Bilikisu Kazeem “f” aged 37years, gave up the ghost before getting to the hospital. Her remains was immediately collected by her relatives who were conveying her to the hospital, declining any autopsy examination from the police.”

“Exhibits recovered from the scene to include “one AK47 Magazine containing 28 live ammunition believed to belong to the hoodlums, handsets, car key, were handed over to respective owners.”

Recalled that the PDP chairman was abducted on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while returning from a stakeholders meeting in Oyo state convened by Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke.
