Gunmen Storm University Staff Quarters In Calabar, Kidnap Professor
It was gathered that the gunmen abducted Egaga and made their escape through the waterways
Calabar, Cross River State – Gunmen stormed the staff quarters of the University of Calabar and abducted Prof. Patrick Egaga, from his residence in Calabar.
Egaga, a professor at the Department of Special Education in the university, was taken captive from his residence in the staff quarters on the night of Sunday, November 12, 2023.
It was gathered that the gunmen abducted Egaga and made their escape through the waterways by which they had entered the staff quarters.
SP Irene Ugbo, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, affirmed the incident on Monday, stating, “We are working to secure his release.”
The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Effiong Eyo, confirmed the incident, noting that efforts for rescue are currently underway.
