Paris, France- World Record holder and Nigeria’s pride, Tobi Amusan has missed out on a spot in the 100m hurdles final at the Paris Olympics after finishing third in the first semi-final.

Both athletes’ faster times secured the qualification spots, ending Amusan’s chances of a podium finish in her third Olympic appearance.

Amusan had burst onto the global scene by setting a new record in the women’s 100 meters hurdles at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon, posting 12.12 seconds and breaking the previous record of 12.20 seconds set by American Kendra Harrison in 2016, making her Nigeria’s first world record holder in an athletics event.
