Tobi Amusan, the defending champion of the 100m hurdles, has lost her title to Jamaica’s Danielle Williams on Thursday.

In a stunning turn of events, 30-year-old Danielle Williams, who previously secured victory in Beijing back in 2015, demonstrated her prowess by clocking in at 12.43 seconds in the 100m hurdles. She managed to narrowly surpass Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn from Puerto Rico, who finished in 12.44 seconds, while Kendra Harrison of the United States clinched the bronze with a time of 12.46.

However, Tobi Amusan and the 2019 champion Nia Ali found themselves out of contention, finishing in sixth and last place, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the men’s 400m event at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Jamaica’s Antonio Watson pulled off a remarkable upset against a highly competitive field.
