Suspect Bites Policeman While Resisting Arrest in Ogun
He was pursued and arrested, upon search, one locally fabricated pistol loaded with cartridges was found and recovered from his cross-body bag.
Authorities from the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspects believed to be serial killers within the state, while during the arrest process, one of the suspects resorted to biting a police driver in a bid to flee.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement, confirmed the arrest of the suspects, namely Esube and Osunmuyiwa, they were arrested on Sunday, August 6, along the Papalanto stretch of the Lagos-Abeokuta express road with a locally-made pistol loaded with cartridges in their possession.
The statement read: “According to Odutola, the suspects, who were travelling on an unregistered motorcycle, were flagged down by a police patrol team, led by Inspector Sunday Adeyemo, but they refused to stop. Odutola explained that the suspects were pursued and arrested alongside a passenger, Omowunmi Fiyakola.
“Esube refused to adhere to the flag down of the police and raced off. He was pursued and arrested, upon search, one locally fabricated pistol loaded with cartridges was found and recovered from his cross-body bag. He was violent with the driver of the police vehicle, by struggling with the steering in a bid to escape, he equally gave the police driver a poisonous bite on his right finger, which led to a tyre burst and the vehicle losing control and its tyres.”
She added that the suspect has made confessional statements as being a member of a notorious confraternity and that the unregistered Bajaj motorcycle was stolen by him. She said he will be charged to court for murder, stealing, and possession of fire arms.
