Senator Natasha Alleges Akpabio Ordered Yahaya Bello To Kill Her In Kogi

The meeting had two key points. First, Akpabio told Yahaya Bello to commence my recall and assured him that he would fund it. Of course, money changed hands that night.

Lokoja, Kogi State – Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has alleged that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, ordered the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to kill her in Kogi.

Akpoti-Uduaghan made this known on Tuesday during a grand homecoming reception by her supporters in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of the state.

“The meeting had two key points. First, Akpabio told Yahaya Bello to commence my recall and assured him that he would fund it. Of course, money changed hands that night. The second thing he told him was that he should try and kill me.

“I didn’t make this public, but I reported it to the Inspector General of Police. I stand by what I have said. Akpabio told Yahaya Bello that he should ensure my assassination does not happen in Abuja but in Kogi, so it would appear as if it was carried out by the people here.”

She continued, “On March 14, at about 10:30 PM, I received calls that Governor Yahaya Bello was with Akpabio. Let me emphasize that two days before that, on March 12, Akpabio had called Governor Ododo on the phone, instructing him to commence my recall. But Governor Ododo told him it would be impossible.

“Governor Ododo stated that recalling me would not be possible because the masses are with me. However, Akpabio was not satisfied. He then sent for Yahaya Bello. It was actually Senator Asuquo from Cross River who drove Yahaya Bello from the Hilton Hotel to the meeting. I was informed of everything when it happened.

“I did not initially make this public, but we notified the security agencies. I also reached out to media houses, including ThisDay and Punch, to publish the information in advance. However, since I had no concrete evidence, they could not publish it. They asked if I had proof that my recall was being planned, and I admitted I did not, but I knew the meeting had taken place and what was discussed.

“Three days later, the recall process began. When it happened, those who doubted me called to confirm that I was right. We saw how they deceived our women, telling them that an empowerment program was ongoing, only to gather signatures for my recall,” she added.
