Imo State Police Foil Terrorist Attack, Neutralize Three Suspects

Owerri, Imo State- The Imo State Police Command foiled a terrorist attack on the Njaba Divisional Police Station on Sunday, killing at least three of the suspected terrorists.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, said that the remaining assailants, who had sustained gunshot wounds, fled into nearby bushes.

The statement detailed that during the operation, police operatives successfully repelled an attack on the Njaba Divisional Headquarters. The assailants, arriving in three SUVs, launched a violent assault with sporadic gunfire.

Okoye noted that in response to the attack, the police operatives quickly assumed defensive positions and engaged the attackers, resulting in the neutralization of three of them.

‘’An intense operation, led by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma, is currently underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.”

He added that the ongoing efforts aim to capture those responsible and ensure justice is served.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma has commended the bravery of the operatives and as well assured the general public that the Command remains committed to enhancing the State’s internal security and will continue to take decisive actions against any threats to public peace.
