Fake Mobile Police Officer Arrested In Jigawa

The Jigawa police command says it has arrested one 25-year-old man, Usman Khalil for parading himself as a mobile police officer.

Lawan Shiisu Adam, spokesperson of the police command, said this in a statement made on Wednesday, the suspect has been impersonating mobile police attached to 35PMF Dutse and intimidating people.

“Before his arrest, the suspect was reported to have gone to one Aliyu Bako shop at mechanic village in a police uniform with a gun, and bought some food commodities on credit and promised to pay as soon as he fixed his salary account,” the PPRO stated.

Later, the fake police officer failed to keep his promise, and the victim reported the matter to the police authorities.

“The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at about 1640 hours.”

The PPRO said the suspect and exhibits were transferred to SCID Jigawa for a discreet investigation.
