Ekiti Court Grants Dele Farotimi N30 Million Bail, Imposes Media Restrictions

Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State — The Ekiti State Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has granted bail to human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi, who is facing charges of cybercrime linked to alleged defamation.
The bail, granted on Friday, comes after the court had earlier denied Farotimi’s application, sparking widespread debate about his constitutional rights.
Farotimi’s arrest followed a petition by legal luminary Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), leading to a case with suit number MAD/1,476.C/2024.
