BREAKING: Simon Ekpa To Be Extradited To Nigeria, Says Defence Headquarters

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has announced that Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed prime minister of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will be extradited to Nigeria to face charges.
SaharaReporters reports that the development was disclosed in a brief statement issued by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa.
The Defence Headquarters is satisfied with progress made in the ongoing legal proceedings against Ekpa, whose activities have been linked to violent separatist movements in Nigeria.
Simon Ekpa, a self acclaimed leader of IPOB faction, has been condemned for allegedly inciting violence in southeastern Nigeria through inflammatory broadcasts.
Nigerian authorities have accused him of masterminding attacks and instigating civil unrest under the guise of agitating for Biafra’s independence.
According to Gusau,“CDS is happy with his arrest in Finland, with the hope this will be a step towards his extradition to Nigeria so that he will face justice.”
Finland district court in Lahti had ordered the remand of Simon Ekpa on probable cause for public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent in Nigeria.
Ekpa was accused of using social media platforms to spread separatist propaganda linked to IPOB, a group advocating for the secession of southeastern Nigeria.
