BREAKING: Bandits Kidnap Pure Water Factory Owner In Kwara’s Edu Local Government
The assailants reportedly stormed the community in broad daylight, scared people before whisking away the factory owner to an unknown destination.
Ilorin, Kwara State– Armed bandits on Thursday invaded Gbugbu community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting the owner of Yashashi Pure Water Company.
The assailants reportedly stormed the community in broad daylight, scared people before whisking away the factory owner to an unknown destination.
A source in the area told Afrika Eyes that the incident occurred in the afternoon while locals were going about their normal activities.
“The bandits came suddenly and started shooting. People ran for their lives. They specifically targeted the owner of Yashashi Pure Water and took him away. Up till now, nobody knows where they took him,” the source said.
Residents said the abduction has thrown the community into panic, with many expressing fear that insecurity in the state is worsening despite government assurances.
Banditry and kidnapping for ransom have increasingly spread into Kwara State from neighboring states in North-Central Nigeria, forcing many rural communities to live in fear.
