Anambra Government Dismantles Kidnappers’ Den, Uncovers Shrine, 30 Graves

Awka, Anambra State– The Anambra State Government has demolished a building used as a hideout by kidnappers along the Onitsha-Owerri Road in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
The building, which operated under the guise of Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as “La Cruise Hotel,” was discovered to be a hub for nefarious activities, including kidnappings.
Officials revealed that the premises contained a shrine and over 30 partitioned graves believed to be connected to the kidnappers’ operations.
This was made public in a statement shared on Saturday by the Anambra State New Media on its X account.
According to the statement, the demolition underscores the government’s commitment to rooting out criminal elements in the South-East region.
Speaking on the development, a government spokesperson said, “This discovery is a stark reminder of the extent criminal activities can go. We will not relent in ensuring the safety and security of every citizen in Anambra State.”
He added that the operation was part of a broader crackdown on criminal syndicates in the state, with authorities pledging to intensify efforts to dismantle similar hideouts and bring perpetrators to justice.
The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no part of the state becomes a haven for criminals. Investigations are ongoing to unearth more details about the operations conducted at the site.
