President Tinubu Replaces El-Rufai, Appoints Three New Ministerial Nominees
among those who were not confirmed was the former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Abuja, Nigeria– President Bola Tinubu has nominated three new candidates for ministerial positions and has officially submitted their names for Senate confirmation.
The announcement came during the Senate’s plenary session, where Senate President Godswill Akpabio read a letter from President Tinubu requesting the confirmation of these nominees.
The three ministerial nominees are as follows: Balarabe Abbas Lawal from Kaduna State, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim from Kwara State and Mr. Ayodele Olawande from Ondo State.
The move follows the Senate’s previous confirmation of 45 ministerial nominees back in August 2023, with three candidates being rejected during that process.
Meanwhile, among those who were not confirmed was the former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The two other nominees who faced rejection at that time were Stella Okotete from Delta State and Abubakar Danladi from Taraba State.
The Senate is expected to conduct thorough screening and deliberations on these new nominees in the coming days.
