Call For Support: Paraplegic Father, Son In Kwara Face Medical Emergency
His young son, AbdulWaheed, faces challenges related to paraplegia, including the inability to control the discharge of urine and semen.
Ilorin, Kwara State– Sa’adu Tajudeen Ayinla, a 56-year-old resident of Onire Community in Asa local government of Kwara State, has issued a heartfelt plea for financial assistance to address a severe health crisis affecting both him and his 12-year-old son, Sa’adu AbdulWaheed.
Mr Ayinla, who has been dealing with a rare health challenge in both of his legs, recently fell unconscious, adding to the family’s medical woes. His young son, AbdulWaheed, faces challenges related to paraplegia, including the inability to control the discharge of urine and semen.
In a statement issued by the Daru-Noor Disability Resource Centre Founder, Umm Alkhayr Abdul-Kareem, disclosed that Mr. Ayinla was found unconscious this morning when one of the members visited his home to accompany him for a medical checkup.
The statement read: “We have been actively addressing Mr Ayinla’s situation since last year when we sponsored Abdulwaheed’s surgery. His condition had deteriorated significantly, rendering him immobile and unable to crawl. He was confined to a single sitting position, he can not discharge “semen” at this age. It is urine and feaces.”
“Following the successful surgery, Abdulwaheed regained his mobility, and we facilitated his enrollment in a primary school, providing him with the necessary care and support. Unfortunately, during this challenging period, his mother passed away due to the immense stress she endured as the sole provider for the family, given Mr. Ayinla’s inability to walk.”
Umm Alkhayr Abdul-Kareem said that the members of Daru-Noor Disability Resource Centre paid a visit to Mr. Ayinla last week, during which they learned that his house had been demolished by heavy rain.
Meanwhile, Umm Alkhayr Abdul-Kareem had pledged to take him to the hospital for a medical checkup. To their surprise, they found him unconscious on Monday morning, prompting the organization to rush him to the Unilorin Teaching Hospital, where he was admitted.
However, the organization is appealing for assistance in covering Mr. Ayinla’s medical expenses, as well as the cost of AbdulWaheed’s surgery. They are also reaching out to philanthropists who have been fortunate to receive divine blessings, asking them to extend their help to Mr Ayinla and his son, who is presently facing health challenges.
“We have made the most of the limited resources available to us, but our financial capacity is currently depleted, making it impossible for us to cover all their medical expenses, let alone construct a new house for him.”
“We appeal to the general public for assistance for Mr Ayinla and his son, who is facing the issue of involuntary discharge of semen and urine. For further information and updates, please feel free to contact us at the following numbers: 08076708892 and 0703 423 8828.”
