Police Rescue 6 Kidnap Victims, kill One Suspect In Plateau
The kidnappers was gunned down during the operation
Jos, Plateau State– Operatives of Plateau State Police Command have rescued six kidnapped victims and killed one of the kidnappers after trailing the notorious gang to their hideout.
Alfred Alabo, the spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command, said in a statement that suspected kidnappers invaded Gwalada village in Toro Local Government Area (LGA) of Bauchi State.
According to him, the criminals forcefully kidnapped several residents of the area and relocated the victims to a rocky forest between Tumu, Tsaya, and Rumfar Gomna in Bassa LGA, Plateau State.
Alabo said the Divisional Police Officer of Jengre led a combined team of battle ready Police operatives, STF, and Security Help Groups to the kidnappers’ camp.
The image maker said on sighting the security operatives, the kidnappers engaged them in a fierce gun fight but they were subdued by the superior fire power of the security operatives.
He gave the names of the rescued victims as Rashida Hamisu, Mummi Usman, Ibrahim Isa, Ya’u Yahaya, Bala Aminu and Alh. Ishaku Usman all of Gwalfada, Toro LGA, Bauchi.
He said one of the kidnappers was gunned down during the operation and his cohorts fled with various degree of bullet wounds.
Alabo added that regrettably, one Nuhu Titus, a hunter who aided the security in the rescue operation lost his life.
