2024 HAJJ: Nigerian Pilgrim From Kebbi Dies In Mecca

She was buried according to Islamic rites on the same day

Mecca, Saudi – A Nigerian pilgrim from Kebbi State has reportedly died in Mecca on Saturday.

The pilgrim, was  identified as Tawalkatu Alako from Jega Local Government Area, succumbed to death after a brief illness.

This is contained in a statement by the board’s Executive Chairman, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, said that  the pilgrim’s died in Mecca on Saturday, May 25, 2024

He said, “The deceased died on Saturday after a brief illness and her funeral prayer took place at the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Ka’aba).

“She was buried according to Islamic rites on the same day”.

The chairman, on behalf of the Kebbi government, extended his heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, Kebbi pilgrims, and the entire people of the state.

Aliyu-Enabo prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Jannatul Firdaus.

A NAHCON delegation, including the Saudi Liaison Officer, Abubakar Lamin, and other staff, paid a visit to the Kebbi State Welfare Board in Mecca, where they received a warm welcome from the Chairman, Garba Takware.

Kebbi State pilgrims were the first set of Nigerian intending pilgrims to arrive in Saudi Arabia for the 2024 Hajj, with their inaugural airlift taking place on 15 May.
