Terrorists Mock Government Rescue Efforts In New Video, Claim Release Of Kebbi Schoolgirls Followed ‘Negotiation With Important People’

Kebbi State– Terrorists holding the abducted schoolgirls from Kebbi State mocked the Nigerian government’s inability to secure the students’ release, insisting they were freeing the girls only because of “discussions with important people.”
In a video seen by Afrika Eyes, the footage, which appeared to be recorded deep in a forested hideout, shows the kidnapped students sitting on the ground as armed terrorists question them.
Several of the gunmen are seen wearing what appear to be military uniforms, riding brand-new motorcycles, and carrying sophisticated weapons.
At the start of the video, the terrorists ask the schoolgirls to state the current date and year—an apparent attempt to confirm that the recording was recent.
One of the gunmen then questions the girls about their treatment while in captivity, asking whether they had been molested. The students respond in unison, saying they had not.
“Did we leave you hungry? Did we protect you?” the gunman asks.
“Yes,” the schoolgirls reply.
The terrorist goes on to taunt the government, asking the students how many aircraft they had seen attempting to rescue them. The girls respond that they have seen none.
“The government’s power did not secure your release from us,” the gunman says. “You can see that the government found it difficult to rescue you.”
He continues, “We will release you so you can return to your parents peacefully, by God’s grace. None of us has spoken to you maliciously or used sexual words toward you, right?”
“No,” the students answer.
The gunman then declares that the girls are “in good condition” and will be freed “based on the peace agreement,” adding that their release is tied to ongoing discussions with unnamed “important people.”
