Subsidy Removal: Aluko Offers Cash Grants To Ease Constituents’ Hardships

Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, PhD, the lawmaker representing Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, has taken bold steps to alleviate the effects of the subsidy removal by establishing a 5-member committee.

The committee was tasked with thoroughly assessing the situation in the constituency and identifying suitable interventions to support constituents.

The 500 beneficiaries have been chosen from the 23 political wards that cover Ilorin East and South Local Governments.

The process included identifying the 20 most impacted constituents within each ward, along with choosing 40 individuals with physical disabilities.

The initial round of grant distribution occurred at the constituency office in Ilorin South, serving as a central location for beneficiaries to collect their financial assistance.

Hon. Aluko’s approach to directly addressing the challenges brought about by the subsidy removal reflects his dedication to serving the best interests of his constituents.

Speaking with our correspondent, Akeem Jaji, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ilorin South, explained that the gesture was a response to the removal of fuel subsidy, added that the initiative was implemented to help alleviate the impact on constituents, particularly those who are vulnerable.

According to him: “Honorable Aluko prioritizes the well-being of his constituents and encourages others to be patient as additional benefits are on the way.

Mr Jaji emphasizes that as a grassroots politician, Aluko understands the needs of his people firsthand.

Mrs Hassan Fatimah, a beneficiary from Sango ward, expressed her contentment with the initiative, describing it as timely.

She extends her gratitude and prayers to Aluko while urging him to continue his efforts.

Mr Suleiman Ayinla, a beneficiary from Igbagun ward, conveyed his satisfaction with the initiative and encouraged other politicians to follow Aluko’s example.
