Sen. Saliu Mustapha Offers Scholarship To Constituents
Ilorin, Kwara State– The Senator representing Kwara Central senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has flagged off the 2024 edition of annual scholarships for indigent and orphaned students in the senatorial district.
The scholarships, covering West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registrations, were launched at a ceremony held at Socrates College, Aromoradu, Ilorin.
Representing the legislator, Professor Binta Suleiman, Coordinator of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation Education Committee, said that over two thousand students from the four local government areas and beyond would benefit from this initiative.
While congratulating the beneficiaries of the scholarship for the year, Prof. Suleiman urged them to be focused, dedicated, disciplined and highly committed to their educational pursuits by coming out in flying colours.
She encouraged scholarship recipients to view themselves as chosen and blessed individuals, reaffirming Senator Saliu Mustapha’s dedication to the educational progress of his constituents by granting additional full scholarships to deserving students among the beneficiaries.
According to her, the impact of the scholarship would undoubtedly be felt for years to come, contributing to the development of a well-educated and empowered constituency.
“I want to convey the congratulatory message of the sponsor, who is the Senator representing kwara central in the National Assembly, Mallam Saliu Mustapha to all the beneficiaries of 2024 annual educational scholarship for the indigents and orphans in the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
“I am happy to inform you that the senator will further sponsor deserving students amongst these recipients that come out in flying colours to higher institutions. It therefore behoves you to work very hard, excel and become good ambassadors of your parents, the foundation and Kwara State at large”, she said.
In his address, Comrade Yakub Ishowo, the Secretary of the Education Committee, provided the guidelines for the seamless registration of the students, urging them to see the scholarship as an opportunity to achieve their academic goals and dreams.
Recipients received the scholarship in their various schools as representatives of Saliu Mustapha Foundation visited the schools to hand over the awards to the principals and parents of the students.
Mr. Sulaiman Olanrewaju, the principal of Community Secondary School in Ogele, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, expressed gratitude to the Saliu Mustapha Foundation for offering scholarships to deserving underprivileged students at the school.
Mr. Abdul Fatai Ayinde, the father of a beneficiary at Ogodo Community Secondary School in Aboto, Odo-Ode Ward, Asa Local Government Area, expressed his gratitude to Senator Saliu Mustapha for the generous gesture. He particularly praised the senator for extending the scholarship to grassroots communities and encouraged other philanthropists to follow his exemplary contribution.
Speakers at Government Day Secondary School, Fate, Ilorin; Muslim Model College School, Yakuba, Ilorin; Government Day Secondary School, Ilorin; Amule Secondary School, Ilorin; Okelele Secondary School, Ilorin; Government Day Senior Secondary School, Aboto-Oja, Asa Local Government; and GSS, Afon commended Senator Saliu Mustapha’s initiative for supporting their educational progress. They prayed for divine empowerment for the senator to extend the scholarship to higher institutions.
