Protest Erupts After Gunmen Kill 5, Injure Others In Plateau Community

Suspected bandits have killed five and wounded several individuals in Nchya village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to an undisclosed individual with knowledge of the incident, a considerable group of bandits entered the village of Nchya at approximately 1:00 am on Monday, August 7, 2023, shooting sporadically into the air to announce their arrival.
It was gathered that five people were killed during the attack and many others were injured. The bandits further set several houses ablaze before making their escape.
Around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, the situation escalated, leading to heightened apprehension and chaos. This occurred when the bodies of the deceased victims were transported to the local government headquarters.
