This initiative aims to strengthen ethical standards and foster a sense of national identity among Nigerians.
Abuja, Nigeria– President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to unveil the National Values Charter in the first quarter of 2025.
This initiative aims to strengthen ethical standards and foster a sense of national identity among Nigerians.
In his New Year’s address on Wednesday, Tinubu stated the importance of moral integrity and unity in advancing his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The National Values Charter, already approved by the Federal Executive Council, will serve as a guide to promoting ethical principles, shared values, and a stronger national identity under the National Identity Project,” Tinubu said.
Reflecting on the past year, the President acknowledged the difficulties many Nigerians faced in 2024 but expressed optimism for 2025.
“Though 2024 brought significant challenges for our citizens and households, I am confident that 2025 will usher in brighter days,” he stated.
He also revealed plans for a comprehensive national orientation campaign to inspire patriotism and unity.
“This campaign will foster a deeper love for our country, encouraging citizens to come together and rally behind our shared vision,” Tinubu added.
The President highlighted the Charter’s role in building trust and cooperation among Nigerians and between the government and the people.
“The Charter will promote mutual commitments, ensuring that we work together to achieve our collective goals,” he said.
Tinubu stressed that his administration’s reforms would only succeed if grounded in shared values and unwavering devotion to Nigeria.
“To realize our national objectives, we must strive to become better citizens, demonstrating unconditional love and allegiance to our country,” he concluded.
