Police Repel Terrorists Attack, Kill One, Rescue 5 Victim In Katsina
Many terrorists are reasonably believed to have escaped the scene with gunshot wounds
The Katsina State Police Command has repelled a terrorist attack at Bajinawa village in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
While countering the attack, the command succeeded in neutralizing one of the terrorists and rescued five kidnapped women unhurt.
Police Spokesman, SP Gambo Isah in a statement on Monday, May 15, said many terrorists are reasonably believed to have escaped the scene with gunshots wounds
“On 14/05/2023 at about 2200hrs, a distress call was received that terrorists-bandits, on motorcycles, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Bajinawa village, Dutsinma LGA and kidnapped five (5) women.
“Area commander, Dutsinma, led a team of Policemen to Tashar Icce, a suspected route/black spot, engaged the hoodlums into a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them.
“In the course of scanning the scene, one member of the terrorist gang was neutralized. The team also recovered one AK 47 rifle and rescued all the kidnap victims.
“Many terrorists are reasonably believed to have escaped the scene with gunshot wounds. Search parties are still combing the area with a view of arresting the injured and/or neutralized bandits.
“The Command enjoins members of the affected communities to report any suspected person found with gunshot wounds to the nearest police station. An investigation is ongoing.”
