Police Arrest Seven Suspected Thugs, Recover Weapons In Bauchi

Arms and some alcoholic beverages were retrieved from their possession during the raids

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested seven suspected thugs in possession of dangerous weapons who are also terrorizing the city of Bauchi metro lately.

In a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, April 9, 2023.

He said the operation yielded a very high rate of success leading to the arrest of the following suspects; Rayyanu Mohammed, 25, Mustapha Harisu, 19, Yusuf Ibrahim, 18, Mubarak Lawal, 18, Abubakar Musa, 18, Al-Amin Hussaini, 20, and Hamza Umar, 17, all of Magaji quarters Bauchi.

According to him, the arrest was sequel to the directives of the Commissioner of Police to the Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical teams to raid criminal hideouts and ensure maximum security and serenity of the Easter celebration.

“On 08/04/2023 at about 0930hrs, operatives attached to C’ Divisional Police Headquarters Bauchi in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit acted on a credible intelligence raided a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building situated at Magaji Quarters Bauchi.”

Consequently, the following assorted arms and some alcoholic beverages were retrieved from their possession during the raids which include; two axes, three knives, ten empty bottles of cough syrup, two empty rubber solution, and one wrap of cannabis sativa.

He said investigations revealed that the suspects arrested belong to a notorious thuggery group called “SARA SUKA” known for terrorizing the city of Bauchi metro lately.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, therefore urged parents and guardians to get acquainted with the activities of their children, as the investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
