Over 105,000 Households Set To Benefit In Kwara State’s Cash Transfer Initiative

Each beneficiary will receive ₦25,000 per circle, for three payment circles,

Ilorin, Kwara State– Kwara State Cash Transfer Unit (Kw SCTU) has commenced the enrollment process for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Program, a key component of the National Social Safety Net project scale-up (NASSP-SU).

Over 105,000 households are to Benefit from the Ongoing Enrollment Across 16 LGAs of the state.

This is contained in a statement by the National Program Manager, Dr Micheal Ajuluchuku, disclosed to newsmen on Wednesday, said the enrollment targets 68,653 individuals from the National Social Register (NSR) and an additional 36,722 beneficiaries from the Rapid Response Register (RRR).

He said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aiming to provide financial relief to vulnerable citizens in Kwara State.

IMG 20231227 WA0007According to him, the enrollment is actively taking place in all 16 Local Government Areas and the 193 wards in 6731 communities across the Kwara State.

Dr Aminah Yahaya, the State Program Manager, urged beneficiaries to provide their National Identification Numbers (NIN) during the enrollment process to meet the eligibility criteria for opening of bank accounts in fulfilment of the recent Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directives.

” For those who have not registered for NIN to do so . She also said individuals on the disclosure list should come along with means of identification to authenticate their identity for enrollment.

“All beneficiaries will be paid through their bank accounts. Those with existing bank accounts will be paid through their accounts while new accounts will be opened by the program for those that do not have accounts.

She said the strategy will help to ensure all beneficiaries are financially included in the program.

Dr Yahaya explained that each beneficiary will receive ₦25,000 per circle, for three payment circles, culminating in a total financial support of ₦75,000 only.

IMG 20231227 WA0008“The financial assistance is to make a significant impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, contributing to their well-being and resilience due to the hardship caused by the current economic situation in the country,” she added.

“We are urging Kwarans to visit their communities to enquire if their community is part of the current disclosure and check their names on the disclosure list which is often displayed in the community leaders house or any place chosen by the community for easy access and convenience of the members to get enrolled.

We can also be reached on our toll-free lines which are displayed in communities for immediate resolution.”

The enrolment exercise which began last week Wednesday is going to last for ten days.
