The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate in the 2023 general election, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, on Saturday fulfilled his pledge to assist the widows of the late Islamic cleric Sheikh AbdulGaniy Dhu Nurayn Aboto al-Adaby, in the state.
It would be recalled that the late Islamic cleric died with his two aides in an unfortunate incident caused by flooding while coming back from a lecture in Niger State.
In a statement by Ibn Abdillah As-sudaisiy Al-Iloori, said the Turaki has approved funds to empower and support the families as promised.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to discuss the modalities for the implementation of the kind gesture.
“I am pleased to inform you that the first leg of the pledges have been duly redeemed as the respective families concerned (wives of Sheikh Aboto and the families of the two other brothers) have been credited with the approved funds to empower and support the families as promised.
“As usual, we have been asked not to disclose the sum credited by the donor to the families for the sake of the sanctity and privacy of the families.
According to him, the consensus agreement on the housing pledge was made.
1. The families have identified their preferred locations and specifications for the apartments to be secured.
2. The stated preferences of the family as communicated to the team of the donor (the details are not for public consumption) have slightly affected their original plan, which has necessitated a fresh search for the preferred locations and tastes.
3. By all standards, the representatives of the family are satisfied with the good faith of the donor and we trust the ability of his team to deliver on the housing aspect.
However, the family of the late Sheikh implored opinion leaders, commentators and members of the public to allow the process to be taken to a logical conclusion before jumping to conclusions.
He expressed dismay over rumour paddled by some political prebendaries to misinform the general public, particularly on social media that the housing pledge was a scam.
According to him, “I can say categorically that we are on course on the project and there is nothing fraudulent about the pledge.
He said the update becomes necessary to clear all doubts.
“We pursuing other pledges too from other dignitaries and we are hopeful they will be redeemed in sha Allāh.
“We urge brothers and sisters in Islam to help us protect the sanctity and privacy of the families Sheikh Abdulganiy Aboto left behind.
“We will keep the public updated as events unfold Insha Allāh for transparency’s sake,” Al-Iloori added.
In the meeting were some dignitaries, Mallam Saliu Mustapha highly represented by Prince Olatunji Buhari, the first son of Sheikh Aboto, AbdulHafiz AbdulGaniy-Aboto and Ustadh Kamil AbdulKraeem Al-Adabi.
