Okada Rider Killed, Two Injured As Trailer Hits Motorcycle In Kwara

A commercial motorcycle rider was killed, while two passengers sustained injuries in a collision with a trailer in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The incident took place along the Maraba/Zango-Kulende highway in Ilorin metropolis at about 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogidan Ade, confirmed that the crash occurred when the trailer driver attempted to swerve to avoid a high-speed Okada rider who entered his lane.
He refuted reports alleging that the three passengers on the motorcycle were crushed to death.

“Only the Okada rider lost his life in the incident, while two others were taken to the UNILORIN teaching hospital for medical treatment,” he stated.

Mr Ade placed blame on the deceased Okada rider for his recklessness, which ultimately led to the avoidable accident.
