NSCDC Arrests 3 Suspected Cattle Rustlers In Jigawa
Two large bulls, a tinted blue Volkswagen Golf with registration number YAB 05 YR, three mobile handsets
Dutse, Jigawa State– The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three suspected cattle rustlers in Jigawa State.
In a statement released by the spokesperson of the corps in the state, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, said two large bulls, a vehicle, two machetes, and an axe were recovered from the suspect.
The suspected cattle rustlers, YUSUF ABDULLAH (m), 19-year-old, ALI ABUBAKAR (m), aged 22, both of Kuburu Qtrs Hadejia and MUHAMMAD YAHAYA, a 21-year-old from Unguwar Makera Hadejia Local Government were apprehended by operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday, 28 day of December, 2023.
“The suspects were arrested following a distress call by one Saidu Umar, owner of the stolen bulls, a resident of Bagumawa village, Malam Madori Local Government who reported to NSCDC officials on stop and search operation at Shagaryo village along Hadejia-Kano road that his cattle were stolen.
“Upon receipt of the report, the officers swung into action and moved to the place where they tracked down the suspects while trying to load the stolen cows on a vehicle.
“Two large bulls, a tinted blue Volkswagen Golf with registration number YAB 05 YR, three mobile handsets (Infinix f10, Techno Pop7 and Vivo L10i), two machetes, and an axe were recovered.
“The suspects have confessed to the crime which they mentioned one other person who is now at large.
“Meanwhile, the State Commandant, Danjuma Muhammed (CC) has ordered for a discreet investigation into the case after which, the suspects will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction.”
