Tonye Solomon, a Nigerian man, has achieved a new Guinness World Record by successfully ascending the most steps on a ladder while skillfully balancing a football on his head.
After Tonye completed an impressive 60 kilometers (37 miles) journey with the football gracefully perched atop his head, stretching from Amassoma to Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, skepticism arose among many who questioned the veracity of his remarkable feat.
In response to these doubts, Tonye resolved to silence the skeptics by showcasing his extraordinary abilities and determination, ultimately securing a Guinness World Records title for ascending the most steps on a ladder while expertly balancing a ball on his head.
Just last month, he accomplished this remarkable feat by ascending a dizzying 150 steps to reach the pinnacle of a towering 250-foot (76-meter) radio mast, all the while maintaining expert control of the ball perched elegantly on his head.
Over two months, he committed himself to rigorous training, utilizing every ounce of his free time for practice, persisting until he had absolute assurance that failure was not an option.
Throughout the record attempt, Tonye appeared undaunted by the daunting ascent, impressively completing the climb in a mere 12 and a half minutes.
“It wasn’t easy,” he said. “I thank the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing me to use their facility for this.”
The Guinness World Record ratified his new record today September 13.
