Abuja, Nigeria — Pandemonium broke out at Mabushi Bridge in Abuja on Monday when three touts, locally known as Agbero and allegedly linked to the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), were lynched and set ablaze by an angry mob after a tragic incident claimed the lives of a family of three.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the touts had reportedly dragged the steering wheel of a moving vehicle, causing the driver, his wife, and their son to lose control and crash, killing them instantly.
In a disturbing video obtained by Afrika Eyes the three suspected touts were seen lying on the ground as petrol was poured on them before they were set on fire by the enraged crowd.
A voice in the background of the footage could be heard calling on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to intervene and ban AMAC touts, who have long been accused of harassment and extortion in the city.
As of the time of filing this report, the FCT Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
