JAMB Denies Involvement In HND Admissions, Clarifies Its Role
Some HND students had accused the board of causing their inability to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
Abuja, Nigeria- The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has denied the claims suggesting its involvement in the admissions process for Higher National Diploma (HND) programs.
In a statement released on Tuesday, JAMB’s spokesman Fabian Benjamin stated that the board has neither authority nor control over HND admissions, countering recent misconceptions circulating in the public domain.
Benjamin noted that JAMB is not responsible for the programs of other higher institutions beyond their regular admissions.
He explained that HND admissions are not within the board’s jurisdiction and are irrelevant to its mandate.
Meanwhile, some HND students had accused the board of causing their inability to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
However, the students were said to have claimed they were not mobilised for service because they did part-time programmes for their national diploma (ND).
