Indian Hemp Dealers Arraign In Ilorin For Beating Colleague To Death Over N65,000

A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ilorin, on Tuesday ordered the remand of two men for allegedly beating their colleague identified as Abiodun Oyinloye to death over N65,000 theft.

The suspects are Olasunkanmi Olarewaju aka ‘Abore’ and Adeniyi Juwon also known as ‘Jboy’.

They were dragged to court on a two-count of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide contrary to Sections 97 and 221 of the Penal Code.

The police in Kwara state have arrested and arraigned two men identified as Olasunkanmi Olarewaju aka ‘Abore’ and Adeniyi Juwon also known as ‘Jboy’ before a Magistrate Court in the state for allegedly beating their colleague identified as Abiodun Oyinloye to death over N65, 000.

Police investigation revealed that the two accused persons conspired and killed the deceased whom they accused of stealing N65,000 realized from the sale of a substance suspected to be marijuana.

“During discreet investigation conducted at SCID Ilorin, it was revealed that you, Olasunkanmi Olarewaju aka Abore ‘m’ conspired with Adeniyi Juwon aka Jboy and attacked Abiodun Oyinloye ‘m’ for stealing N65,000 being the proceeds of dried leave suspected to be Indian hemp which you were selling.

It was further revealed that you, Olasunkanmi Olarewaju aka Abore ‘m’ after you and Adeniyi Juwon aka Jboy killed Abiodun Oyinloye, you, Olasunkanmi Olarewaju, concealed the deceased’s body in a room within his compound.

During the investigation, you, Olasunkami Olarewaju aka Abore ‘m’ and Adeniyi Juwon aka Jboy ‘m’ both confessed to having conspired to beat Abiodun Oyinloye ‘m’ to death for stealing N65,000.”

Police prosecutor, Gbenga Ayeni, asked the court to remand the suspects to a federal correctional facility in the state pending the conclusion of the investigation.

In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, M. O. Abayomi, ordered their remand at the Federal Correctional Centre, Mandala, Ilorin.
