Ilorin Emirate Durbar Symbolises Unity, Cultural Pride – Yahaya Seriki

Ilorin, Kwara State – The President and Chief Executive Officer of Kursi Investment, Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari, has described the Ilorin Emirate Durbar as a unique and cherished cultural heritage that showcases the unity and strength of the people of Ilorin.
Yahaya Seriki made this known on Sunday during the 2025 edition of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar held at the Baseball Pavilion, Ilorin.
He noted that the annual Durbar festival, which marks the climax of Eid celebrations, remains a significant symbol of unity in diversity and a celebration of victory.
“The Durbar festival is a cherished cultural heritage for the people of Ilorin. It symbolises unity in diversity and celebration of victory. This year’s edition was colourful and interesting. As a proud son of the Emirate, we will continue to promote our cultural heritage,” he said.
He congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the success of the event and lauded the peaceful conduct of residents and visitors throughout the celebration.
Yahaya Seriki also extended appreciation to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for approving the Baseball Pavilion as the venue for this year’s Durbar, noting that the location added “beauty and glamour” to the occasion.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain commended the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee for their consistency in organising the cultural spectacle, which he said continues to attract admiration from sons and daughters of the Emirate across the globe.
