I will Not Involve In Politics Of Blackmail, Name-Calling- Says Yakubu Gobir 

The governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir has received the royal blessings of the Balogun Fulani, Alhaji Abubakar Sidiq Atiku Fulani, on his aspiration to become Kwara governor, during a visit to his palace on Thursday.

He expressed his appreciation and the warm reception, promising to live up to expectations and fulfil his electoral promises and assuring Kwarans that he won’t be involved in dirty politics.

Mr Gobir while addressing YPP Executives and members in Ilorin South local government area of Kwara State at Balogun Fulani compound, Ilorin.

He said, the youth are the builder of the nation, and the reason why the party moving progressively in the state is because of the youth. Our target focuses on the youth and women because they carry the largest percentage.

“We also need to take good care of our mothers, of course, as we started this journey with open hearts let’s continue to intensify more effort for the progress of the party and to become victorious at the General Election.

He said “I’m impressed with what you did in Ilorin South because when we started this journey, our members from Ilorin South are worried but today they have built the party beyond imagination.

People only heard about my name because of my gentility many are insinuating that I’m not serious about the governorship position in the state, because of my silence.

But what they refuse to know about me is that “I will never get involved in dirty politics or blackmailing, aside from Politics I’m a traditional title holder in Ilorin Emirate, I’m beyond someone who will go on air to abuse personalities because of politics.

He noted that power belongs to God and He gives it to whomsoever He chooses, adding that no one can stop a man whose time has come.

“I will not engage in dirty politics or name-calling, in my campaign do not expect me to name shame anybody, we are in politics for serious business and to deliver good governance to the good people of Kwara.

The business mogul reiterated his commitment and assured his supporters that he won’t join any party or collapse the party structure for any candidate, except they will come and join us, he said.

The YPP Chairman of Kwara State, Chief Dele Ogunbayo JP in his remarks commanded Gobir for the leadership and the level playing field he provided adding that he would be magnanimous in victory come 2023.

He hailed members of YPP in Ilorin South for the tremendous success they have achieved in the shortest period, according to him, with what happened here today showing that YPP is a party to reckon with.

Mr Ogunbayo urged all members of the party to mobilize their support for Gobir and other party candidates and to also make sure that they work vigorously for the victory of the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
