Hoodlums Behead Security Guard In Bayelsa Church

The assistant pastor of the church discovered the mutilated corpse of the victim on the church premises

Some suspected  ritual killers on Wednesday  beheaded a 37-year-old security guard identified as Anthony Egbo, at Elebele Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The incident occurred at the Living Faith Church, well known as Winners Chapel where the deceased was a private security guard.

However, the assistant pastor of the church discovered the mutilated corpse of the victim on the church premises.

According to a source in the community, the head of the deceased was severed from the body while the throat was missing.

He said, “When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing.”

Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the killing, said the corpse had been recovered and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa for autopsy.

He said investigation was ongoing to unravel the cause of the incident.
