Gunmen Kidnap Four Catholic Rev Sisters In Imo
Recent times as people were being abducted on the road without a trace
Gunmen on Sunday morning kidnapped four Reverend Sisters of the Catholic Church along the Okigwe-Umulolo axis of Okigwe-Enugu Expressway in Imo State.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the ugly incident occurred on Sunday at the popular Okigwe-Enugu Road while the victims were on their way to mass on Sunday morning.
It would be recalled that Okigwe-Enugu Expressway has become notorious in recent times as people were being abducted on the road without a trace.
In a statement issued by the Secretary-General of the Sisters Of Jesus The Saviour, Sister Zita Ihedoro.
The abductees are identified as sisters Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu.
Meanwhile, all the sisters have asked all religious faithful in the country to pray for the quick and safe return of the victims.
The statement reads partly, “Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is with great pain that we bring to your notice the kidnapping of four of our sisters mentioned above.
“The sad event of their abduction occurred around Okigwe-Umulolo area this morning shortly after the sisters were on their way to thanksgiving mass of our sister.
“We implore for intense prayer for their quick and safe release. May Jesus the saviour listen to our prayers and may our mother Mary intercede for the unconditional release of our dear sisters.
