Gunmen Abduct Police Officer In Bauchi

Suspected bandits armed with firearms have abducted Assistant Superintendent of Police Nasiru Muhammed in Toro town, in the Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The police officer was reportedly abducted during the evening of Friday, September 15, 2023, when a group of armed gunmen descended upon the town, unleashing a barrage of random gunfire into the air.
The incident sparked chaos in the town, with residents scrambling to find safety.
It was gathered that around 9 PM, a significant number of armed gunmen launched an attack on the town, firing shots into the air, which led to widespread panic among the residents.
A source disclosed that the bandits abducted the Assistant Superintendent of Police and took him to an undisclosed destination.
Ismail Dabo, the representative for Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and the Chairman of the House Committee on Ecological Funds and Great Green Wall, expressed condemnation for the incident.
He also appealed for calm, describing the abduction as regrettable and unfortunate, especially given the prevailing economic challenges.
