Gunmen Abduct Mother, 3 Children In Kwara, Demand N100m Ransom
The terrified family was then marched deep into the nearby forest.
Ilorin, Kwara State – A mother and her three children were abducted by unidentified gunmen on Sunday, September 24, at about 8:00 p.m., at the Ajelete community in the Agunjin district of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.
Jide Asonibare, the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman for the council area, confirmed the alarming incident and stated that the armed assailants brazenly invaded the quiet community, creating chaos by firing shots indiscriminately before forcibly abducting the victims from their own residences.
The terrified family was then marched deep into the nearby forest.
Asonibare disclosed that the abductors have since contacted the family, issuing a chilling demand for a ransom of N100 million in exchange for the safe release of the mother and her three children.
“We have already informed the police and the Army both in Kwara and neighbouring Kogi states. Fifteen of our vigilante men are still combing the bushes, but there is no headway yet,” he said.
“The kidnappers have contacted the family demanding N100 million ransom,” he added.
