Governors Of Niger, Zamfara States Meet With National Security Adviser Over Insecurity

Zamfara and Niger States Governors recently held a closed-door meeting with the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, focus of the discussion was the escalating insecurity situation that has been affecting both of these states.

In a statement from the media aid to Zamfara Governor Suleiman Bala Idris, Governor Dauda Lawal, accompanied by Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, the visit is part of their joint effort to address the persistent issue of banditry that has been impacting both states.

According to the statement, the Governors engaged in a private discussion with the National Security Adviser at his office located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He said Governor Lawal expressed deep concern regarding the prevailing insecurity situation in Zamfara State. He added that this concern has motivated his consistent efforts to explore potential solutions to put an end to the security challenges.

“Restoring peace in Zamfara has been Governor Lawal’s priority from day one as the Executive Governor of the State.

“At the meeting, the Governors discussed important security issues with the NSA,” he said.
