Bandits Kidnap 20-Year-Old Nursing Mother, Five Others In Bauchi Communities

A group of bandits have kidnapped six persons including a 20-year-old nursing mother from communities in Ningi and Toro Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.

A source disclosed that a distressing incident occurred on the night of Saturday, August 19, 2023, the gunmen stormed Billiri Gorore village in the Lumbu community, resulting in the abduction of two persons identified as Alhaji Chibi and Alhaji Siba.

According to the source, bandits conducted a harrowing attack on Thursday night in Sanger settlement within Kwangoro village and abducted one person for ransom.

He however said that he could not ascertain how much they are demanding but noted that negotiation was ongoing to secure his release from captivity.

It was gathered that bandits in another different operation attacked Yadagungume town on Saturday night and abducted a nursing mother, Adama Abdussalam, 20, the wife of a businessman, Alh Abdussalam Jibrin Yaudo, who narrowly escaped from the attack.

A security source told the Nigerian Tribune said the gunmen invaded Yaudo’s house at about 1:00am.

The Caretaker Chairman of Ningi local government area, Hon Ibrahim Zubairu, who confirmed the incidents, said that on receiving the report, he immediately mobilized the security personnel to the affected communities.

He said that the local government authorities are doing their best unrelentingly putting efforts towards arresting the insecurity issues bedevilling the peace and tranquillity of the area.

The Council boss said that they are recording great success in the fight against insecurity whereby before the recent attacks, communities within the LGA live in harmony for 16 days without any report of kidnapping activities.

He however pointed out that this was informed by the concerted efforts meted out by the state Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, to ensure that the lives and property of the common man are fully protected.

Ibrahim Zubairu assured that his Council will not rest on its oars in safeguarding lives and properties of the citizens by collaborating with all security agencies.

In a similar development, gunmen suspected to be bandits kidnapped two persons, Alhaji Babangida, aka Dan Rimin Wunti, and Alhaji Saleh Jange (PICTURED) by bandits in Gumau town, Toro Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night, August 19.

The Member representing Toro Federal Constituency, Dabo Ismail Haruna, who confirmed the abduction in a statement on Sunday, sympathized with the victims and pray for their safe return.

“I received with deep shock the kidnapping of Alhaji Babangida ( Dan Rimin Wunti) and Alhaji Saleh Jange by bandits in Gumau yesterday night,” he said.

“This is coming after similar incidents at Bargan Fulani where a woman was slaughtered and another man killed at Fishere. Communities such as Salarma among others are not left out with this sad events of recurring kidnappings
