Former Kaduna Council Chairman Brutally Killed In Terrorist Ambush On Burial Convoy
The attack occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, when armed assailants suspected to be terrorists ambushed the convoy, setting ablaze the official vehicle of the former Executive Chairman along with three other cars.
Kaduna State- The former Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Gajere, has been found dead following a violent attack on a convoy returning from a burial ceremony in Dogon Noma community, Maro Ward, Kaduna State.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the attack occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, when armed assailants suspected to be terrorists ambushed the convoy, setting ablaze the official vehicle of the former Executive Chairman along with three other cars.
Following the assault, Hon. Gajere and several others were declared missing, prompting frantic searches by local residents and community vigilantes.
The Sun reports that on Wednesday afternoon, villagers combing the surrounding bush discovered Gajere’s lifeless body. Witnesses report that he sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
“It is painful to inform you that the body of the missing former Chairman of Kajuru Local Government has been found this afternoon.
“Some people have been combing the forest in search of him when they did not hear from the attackers.
“There were bullet wounds on his body,” a source said.
However, the tragic killing has thrown the community into mourning and heightened fears after a separate attack in a nearby village on the same day left two people dead.
Residents are calling on security agencies to immediately intensify operations in the Kajuru axis to prevent further bloodshed and bring perpetrators to justice.
