Ex-PDP Commissioners, Pledge Support For Gov. AbddulRazaq Second Term

The defectors expressed their readiness to work with the state Governor

Two former commissioners in Kwara State during the administration of Governor Abubakar Bukola Saraki and AbdullFatai Ahmed have pledged support for Governor AbdulRahman AbddulRazaq for a second term.

Hon. Ahmed Mohammed Rifun, who served as Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, and Hon. Haruna Mohammad Tambiri, the former Local Government and Chieftaincy Commissioner, were the prominent Kwara North politician who joined  APC in the State with thousands of their supporters.

The two former commissioners pledge while addressing the journalists on Wednesday in Ilorin the State capital of Kwara State.

The defectors expressed their readiness to work with the state Governor base on his performance in aspects of capital projects, staff welfare and human development.

Mr Rifun who hails from Kpada ward 3 in Patigi local government said that they had seen the light and decided to follow the right part. He promised to work for the victory of their new party at the 2023 general elections.

According to him “politics has to do with interest and if I’m not comfortable with PDP as a party, I have the right to decamp to another party, willingly on my own and I have decided to decamp from PDP to APC.

“I have made up my mind and discussed with other stakeholders within my domain, that I am going to APC because I discovered that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has performed wonderfully beyond my expectation”

People speculating it round all over social media that I decamped to APC in order to cash out, it is a fabricated lie woven by PDP and it doesn’t catch me unaware.

He said “my intention for joining APC is because of Governor AbdulRahman’s performances, I was not given any money to join the party, I joined APC as a party willingly.

“I want to tell the people of Kwara state that we have come as a party member to respect the rule of law and social justice”.

Also speaking, a former Commissioner, Hon. Haruna Mohammad Tambiri said his conviction AbdulRazaq’s performance in the state that’s what attracted him in joining APC.

Mr Tambiri said “I was amazed at the way things have turned around. What PDP could not do in 16 years, just one man, one government has come to turn things around.

“I saw much infrastructural development more of buildings and renovations of many schools in my town in Tsaragi with the construction of the three main roads that were abandoned by the PDP for decades those among the conviction I have that AbdulRazaq is there for the betterment of the people in the State.”

“We are among the hundreds of people that voted for him in 2019, we fought for his emergency as the Governor in the whole Kwara North, and now we have decided to come out boldly to pledge our support for his second term Insha Allah.

“We are not here to abuse anybody or fight anybody, but we are here to appreciate the good people of the state to tell you that what we had done in the 2019 governorship election, this is the time to repeat it even much better,” Tambiri said.

However, they urged their supporters in the State to support AbdulRazaq and the APC-led government to accomplish its mission of making Nigeria a better society.
