Cultists Behead 4 Vigilante Members In Rivers, Cut Off Private Parts

The criminals who were fully armed reportedly arrived in the community, and they declared that they were returning to reclaim their territory.

At least four persons have been killed in Ndele community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State by suspected cultists, who returned to the community after two years of estrangement.

It was gathered that the suspected cultists invaded the community with a tricycle and an eighteen-seater commercial bus on Monday night, May 29, 2023, whisking away some men alive.

The victims identified as Endurance Nmekini, two brothers, Onyema Kekwaru and Ejike Kekwaru, and one other were all members of local vigilante groups.

According to reports, two of them were beheaded and their private parts chopped off.

The source disclosed that the suspected cultists, who invaded the community were some indigenes who were chased out for being members of cult groups terrorizing the community at the time.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident attributed the killings to a clash between suspected cult groups in the area.

She added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Nwonyi Polycarp, has ordered tactical units to be deployed to the area with a view to arresting the perpetrators while the investigation is ongoing.
