Celestial Church Pastor Arrested for Alleged Killing LASU Graduate In Ritual Act After Receiving N1.5M

Ikeja, Lagos State – A Celestial Church pastor, identified as Superintendent Evangelist Whepetoji Babaniyeh, has been arrested for allegedly killing a fresh graduate, Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola, for ritual purposes after collecting N1.5 million from him.
Adedamola, a 28-year-old graduate of Political Science Education from Lagos State University (LASU), was reported missing on January 16, 2025.
He was running a private business, Horlar Edu Consultancy, at the LASU campus before his disappearance.
According to his girlfriend, she last spoke to him when he was in front of CCC Ileri Oluwa Parish, LASU 2, where he promised to call back but never did.
Following her report, the police visited the church, but the pastor denied seeing the victim that day.
Further investigations led the police to Adedamola’s bank statement, revealing that N1.5 million had been transferred from his account on the day he vanished.
The money was traced to accounts belonging to the pastor, his daughter, and others.
Initially, the pastor denied receiving the funds but later claimed it was meant for a thanksgiving service.
Following intensified interrogation, authorities discovered Adedamola’s body buried near the church premises.
Meanwhile, his remains were reportedly mutilated, with some body parts missing.
However, a gun and an axe were also recovered from the pastor during the investigation.
The police have taken the suspect into custody as investigations continue into the gruesome killing.
