BREAKING: President Tinubu Sacks Service Chiefs, Appoints New Heads

Abuja, Nigeria– President Bola Tinubu has announced a major reshuffle in the hierarchy of Nigeria’s Armed Forces as part of efforts to reinforce the country’s national security architecture.
General Olufemi Oluyede has been appointed the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa.
Major-General W. Shaibu takes over as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke is named Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas assumes the role of Chief of Naval Staff.
This is contained in a statement signed on Friday by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President, Media & Public Communications, stating that Chief of Defence Intelligence Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position.
In a statement, President Tinubu expressed profound appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff and other service chiefs for their dedicated leadership and patriotic service.
He charged the newly appointed chiefs to justify the confidence placed in them by enhancing professionalism, vigilance, and comradeship within the Armed Forces.
Dare added that all appointments take immediate effect.
