BREAKING: Governor Yusuf Appoints Second Class Emirs For Gaya, Karaye, Rano Emirates In Kano
The deposed emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, was reinstated as emir of Gaya.
Kano State– Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the appointment and designation of second-class emirs for the Gaya, Karaye, and Rano Emirates.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General of Media and Publicity to the governor, disclosed this in a statement to the newsmen on Wednesday.
They are: Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz Karaye, Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umar, Emir of Rano, and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, Emir of Gaya.
According to the statement, the appointments take effect immediately.
The deposed emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, was reinstated as emir of Gaya.
Abdulkadir, unlike other deposed emirs, accepted his fate gracefully and expressed readiness to work in any capacity following his deposition.
The governor congratulated the newly appointed emirs and enjoined them to be the custodians of culture ,peace and unity of the people in their respective Emirates.
The development comes after the governor signed the Kano State Emirate Council Establishment Bill 2024 into law on Monday.
