BREAKING: Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Dies In London
The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
LONDON, UK – Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has died, according to an official statement released on Sunday by his longtime aide, Garba Shehu.
Shehu confirmed that the former leader passed away in London, where he had reportedly been receiving medical care.
Details surrounding the cause of death have not yet been disclosed.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, was known for his anti-corruption stance and efforts to combat insurgency in the country.
Before his presidency, he ruled Nigeria as a military head of state between 1983 and 1985.
He said, “NNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIRRAJIUUN.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
“May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.”
